Throughout the summer youth participating in the Ak-Sar-Ben 4-H Stock Show dedicate a large portion of their time to preparing their animals for the show. Their persaverance, commitment and patience comes to fruition when they are chosen as a winner and earn the ability to have their animal go on the sale block at the Purple Ribbon Auction. Each year over 20 youths have this once in a lifetime experience which helps provide for their future and education.

The Ak-Sar-Ben Buyers Club (ABC) is dedicated to raising scholarship and general show funds for the Livestock Auction during the Ak-Sar-Ben 4-H Stock Show. The Champions and Purple Award winners are auctioned to the highest bidder. Your pledge or participation will help insure the future education of young people interested in Agriculture. The ABC Club organizes the Purple Ribbon Auction, which is the grand finale event, and promotes it to prospective bidders in order to support its motto: "Good people doing good things for good kids." In 2010, over $230,000 was raised at the Auction.

All money raised goes to support 4-H Youths. Anyone interested in providing to the youth and future of our region are encouraged to attend. To attend the event, or to make a donation to the auction please call (402) 554-9600 ext. 100.

2011 John Deere Gator Lottery

A 2011 John Deere Gator raffle will be held with proceedes going towards scholarships awarded at the 2011 Purple Ribbon Auction.  Tickets are $50 each, and a maximum of 750 will be sold. To purchase a ticket call (402) 554-9600 ext. 105, or purchase one in the Grand Hallway at the Information Booth during the event. The drawing will be held Sunday, Sept. 25th during the Purple Ribbon Auction.
