Herdsmanship, which insures a safe and healthy environment for livestock projects, is an important part of Ak-Sar-Ben 4-H Stock Show. Although maintaining the environment may take some work, it is worth the effort. It demonstrates the positive image of the livestock industry to the public.

Assigned county livestock stalling and pen areas for beef, dairy, sheep, meat goat and swine exhibits will be reviewed several times daily during the period that animals are required to be housed on the show grounds. Each county will receive a daily average score in each species and awards will be given based on your final accumulated score average for beef, dairy, sheep and swine exhibit areas. A county must have at least three exhibitors actively exhibiting in livestock specie to be eligible for a Championship plaque.
