The Justin Boots Championships of the Wrangler Million Dollar Tour showcases ninety-six cowboys who compete over a seven-month period to earn their trip to Omaha. Fan favorite world champions like Billy Etbauer, Lindsay Sears, and Trevor Brazille are just a sampling of who has been here in the past.
The Omaha Rodeo is not the rodeo your grandparents may remember. The event is a two-hour fast paced production featuring rock music, laser lights, pyro and lots of thrills and spills!
Road to Omaha
On the Wrangler Million Dollar Tour there is a minimum of 25 regular season Tour Rodeos. These rodeos are broken into two designations, Gold Tour Rodeos and Silver Tour Rodoes, based on the committee added purse money per event.
The cowboy standings for the Wrangler Million Dollar Tour are based on money won. Regardless of tour rodeo designation, ALL money won in the Gold Tour and Silver Tour stops will be combined for the Tour Standings. Day money will count towards the Tour Standings, however ground money does not.
Gold Tour Rodeos: Kansas City, Mo - Oct. 21-23; San Antonio, Texas - Feb 4-19; Austin, Texas - March 14-26; Reno, Nev. - June 17-25; St. Paul, Ore. - July 1-4; Cody, Wyo. - July 1-4; Salinas, Calif. - July 21-24; Cheyenne, Wyo. - July 23- 31; Ellensburg, Wash. - Sept. 2-5.
Silver Tour Rodeos: Rapid City, SD - Feb 3-5; Laughlin, Nev. - March 31- April 3; Pocatello, Idaho - April 6-9; Logandale, Nev. - April 7-10; Red Bluff, Calif. - April 15-17; Clovis, Calif. - April 22-24; Redding, Calif. - May 19-21; Prescott, Ariz. - June 28- July 4; Colorado Springs, Colo. - July 13-16; Sheridan, Wyo. - July 13-16; Spanish Fork, Utah - July 20-23; Lovington, N.M. - Aug. 10-13; Dodge City, Kan. - Aug 3-7; Sikeston, Mo. - Aug 10-13; Hermiston, Ore. - Aug 9-13; Bremerton, Wash. - Aug 24- 28.
Justin Boots Playoffs: Puyallup, Wash. Sept. 10-12 The top 24 contestants in each event in the Wrangler Million Dollar Tour will qualify for Puyallup, WA. The Playoffs are a 5 performance rodeo consisting of 2 go rounds, back to back, with a semifinals and a finals. At the conclusion of the 2nd go, the top 8 contestants in each event will proceed to the semi-finals held during the 5th performance. At the conclusion of the semi-finals, the top 4 contestants in each event will advance to the final round also held during the 5th performance.
Justin Boots Championships: Omaha, Neb. Sept 22-24 The top 12 contestants in each event in the Wrangler Million Dollar Tour will qualify for Omaha, Neb. The Championships are a 3 performance rodeo consisting of 2 go rounds, back to back, with a semifinals and a finals. The third and final performance will consist of both the semi-finals and final go-rounds. The top 8 contestants in each event and the conclusion of the 2nd go round will advance to the semifinals. At the conclusion of the semifinals, the top 4 contestants in each event will advance to the finals. The contestant in each event that has the fastest time or highest score will be considered the 2011 Justin Boots Champion of the Wrangler Million Dollar Tour Champion, in that event.
