Mission & History

Mission

Official Community Celebration of Omaha recognizing the region's agricultural heritage while benefitting youths through education and scholarships.

History

Nearly thirty years ago the idea of River City Rodeo & Stock Show was born with notes taken on a paper napkin. Yes, a napkin.

Now what was created in 1982 has grown into one of the region's largest events. The four-day event includes a diverse offering of entertainment and family fun. The staple events include the Justin Boots Championships, the 4-H Stock Show and the Douglas County Fair. In addition, numerous events like the Heritage Parade, Trail Rides, Giddy-Up Gulch and Community Stage provide hours of excitement and activities.

Just as it was in 1982 all events are free to the public, other than the rodeo & concerts, in an effort to provide fun, exciting and educational activities to all guests. Join us as we celebrate September 25 through 28, 2014 at the CenturyLink Center Omaha for four days of guaranteed fun.
